Now here's something I really like. An article on the Abundance Mentality. This has to be one of the key mentalities to making a difference in the world.

Its important to note that having this mentality does not automatically equal tons of money at all times. It IS the key to always being a GIVER, and being content IN LACK or IN ABUNDANCE. Everyone is buzzing about "The Secret" but the real secret is hidden a little deeper - your positive attitude is really important but you will face lack in one way or another in your lifetime, most of you anyway. Your attitude in that circumstance will declare your character.

"Godliness with contentment IS great gain." one of my favorite scriptures that stretches me time and time again, and helps me refocus on what is important.

Mitch, I totally agree that an attitude of abundance and a fat bank account are not the same thing--and that those who have the attitude of abundance will do well even when conditions turn poor. I've actually even writing about this since at least 1995. That's when I wrote The Penny-Pinching Hedonist: How to Live Like Royalty with a Peasant's Pocketbook, which explains how to enjoy life's finest pleasures even if you have empty pockets. Much later, I actually won an award for Principled Profit: Marketing That Puts People First, which shows business owners how to grow their businesses through ethics and abundance thinking.

People often forget that money is a means to an end. Often, there are other ways to achieve the goal. Money is nice, but too many people act as if money is the goal.

Interestingly enough, I find that because of my attitude of abundance, money flows to me, along with other ways of achieving what I strive for. when I had an attitude of poverty, I stayed poor.
